Baseball highlights from 5/8/2013 as stated by Coach Larry Williams:
“A huge congratulations to the Varsity baseball team for their 10-4 win tonight against Waggener. The Redhawks overcame 5 errors and a sluggish offensive start to rally in the 6th inning to pull away with a win. Down 4-2 in the 6th, Seneca got things going playing small ball. Darryl Keels led the rally by scoring all the way from 1st on a botched pickoff attempt to close within 4-3. The Hawks then were able to draw walks, lay down bunts and steal bases en route to putting up 8 runs, finishing with a 10-4 lead. Zac Farhat closed the game out, pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Keels went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s, a double and 5 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Matt Simon also drove in 2 runs. Seneca also managed to steal a total of 10 bases in the game. The Hawks finish 1-2 in the district and earn the 3rd seed and will play Trinity in the district tournament in the coming weeks. The JV team will be in action tomorrow night at Seneca vs. Breckinridge Co. ITs a DH game at 5:30pm.”

Jake Rich signs with St. Catharine College
What Coach McGill says about Jake:
Jake Rich has been a phenomenal player and student in his time here at Seneca High School. Many of his teammates and coaches know him as Rich. Rich has excelled on the soccer field in many aspects of the game. He has a unique skillset that many players do not possess and those skillsets have allowed him to accomplish so much in his four year tenure at Seneca. Jake has been a four year starter for Seneca’s soccer team and has contributed at almost every position on the field. Rich is a superb defensive player and rarely gave up big plays! He was always willing to do what it takes to make his team and himself better! Jake has helped produce three 10 win seasons and has also helped produce three district titles (2009, 2010 & 2011). Rich has been a great athlete to coach! He is very knowledgeable of the game and has a willingness to help others on and off the field. Besides being a great soccer player, Jake has maintained a high G.P.A. in all four years as a student athlete. We wish Rich great success in his new chapter in life and we’ll always be here for him to support him in any way we can.
