Seneca High School and Seneca Past and Present Alumni Association cordially invite you to the Seneca High School Hall of Fame Banquet Weekend on 21-22 October! The weekend starts with the Homecoming Football game where the Redhawks take on the Eastern Eagles! The game starts at 7:00pm. Seneca Past and Present will be there to greet all alumni and help with Hall of Fame introductions during halftime.


On Saturday 22 October at 6:00pm, we are hosting a banquet at the Holiday Inn Louisville East (1325 Hurstbourne Lane). Admission is $45 and should be made payable through check to Seneca Past and Present and mailed it to PO Box 20856 Louisville, KY 40250-0856, OR you may pay for your reservation through our PayPal account. The account can be reached here. Just enter the amount that equals the number of reservations you would like, and in the note line just below the amount, tell us that it is for the Hall of Fame Banquet! Easy as pie!!

Seneca High School Inducts Inaugural Hall of Fame Class

Inductees have made significant community, educational and athletic contributions

July 28, 2016 – Seneca High School has inducted its inaugural Hall of Fame class, recognizing alumni who have made significant community, educational and athletic contributions.

The Seneca Hall of Fame Committee, established in 2015 to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of former graduates, recently announced the following inductees (by graduation year unless otherwise indicated):

  • Bob Mulcahy, basketball coach and state championship coach (1960-1964)
  • Julius Friedman, photographer/graphic designer (1961)
  • George Unseld, Metro Councilman and community activist (1961)
  • Judge Ellen B. Ewing, staff attorney for Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Jefferson County Juvenile Court trial commissioner and former district and circuit court judge (1962)
  • David Cosby, First Team Basketball All-State and owner/ operator of Cosby Construction Co. (1962)
  • Mike Redd, Kentucky’s first African American Mr. Basketball (1963)
  • 1963 State Basketball Championship Team
  • Jerry Abramson, former Louisville mayor and lieutenant governor; director of intergovernmental affairs for Obama Administration (1964)
  • Wes Unseld, former NBA player, Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets (1965)
  • Phil Thompson, former University of Kentucky football player (1965)
  • Brenda Jones Quick, attorney and noted law professor (1966)
  • Diane Sawyer, television journalist (1963)
  • Darryl Bishop, first African American basketball player at the University of Kentucky (1969)
  • Eugene Stickler, teacher and drama director (1969-2000’s)
  • Jeffrey “Scotty” Jones, member of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team (1980)
  • Dr. Kala Kamdar, noted pediatrician (1992)
  • Darlene Williams, teacher and counselor (1980; 1986-1996)
  • Garry Williams, former NFL player, Carolina Panthers (2004)
  • Megan Stengel Bramos, West-Region All American in Field Hockey; played for University of Miami-Ohio; (2005)

“Seneca High School has been educating scholars since 1957. In that time, thousands of young men and women have distinguished themselves not only in academics and athletics, but also as invaluable and superior contributors to our society, community and the world,” said Seneca Principal Kim Morales.  “The committee hopes that these distinguished alumni will serve as a guiding light to current and future scholars who can see those who have gone before them and perhaps serve as role models.”

Inductees are invited to the Hall of Fame Celebration Weekend, Oct. 21 and 22. Activities will include the Wall of Fame unveiling; a tour of the building; a chance to meet and speak to current scholars; formal banquet; and recognition at the Homecoming pep rally and football game.
